{Mini Album and Photo Box}

Hi there! I hope you're all having a great weekend :)  Mine so far has been quite busy and although I'm pretty exhausted, I somehow seem to be suffering from imsomnia waking up every hour on the dot.  So here I am, wide awake at 4 am! I've been laying in bed for the last 45 min. trying to fall asleep when I decided I might as well make use of the time and update my blog.

My godson had his 2nd birthday today. Happy Birthday Robert!! I had a blast making him a mini album, he's so photogenic! Although I'm sure he enjoyed his new toy cars and blocks more, I like knowing he has a little keepsake that he'll always have even after he's outgrown the toys :)

Here's what I created, hope you like it!

I have to admit it's always difficult for me to create boy related stuff.  I have two nieces and I love too much to incorporate lace and flowers in my projects. Plus, the majority of my stash tends to be on the more girly side. So this album is alot simpler in design (although I did sneak in a couple of flowers :p).
Here are the pages inside the album.  There are a couple of blank cards that I incorporated for mommy to journal on and a pocket with some blank tabbed cards to add a couple more photos.  Sorry I didnt get to take close up photos, I rushed taking these before leaving for the party.  Alot of the elements were elevated with pop dots to give it more dimension but the photos doesn't show it.

It's now 5:15 a.m and I'm yawning quite a bit, so I think I'll try and catch a couple of zzzzzz's before the furbabies wake me up in 2 hours to go out.  Take care!!

{Altered Mini Box and Itty Bitty Album}

Hey there! I can't believe there's only 21 days till Christmas!! I'm so behind on so many things it's crazy. Then again, I'm sure that's how it is for most around the holidays.  I absolutely love it though. The Christmas songs (nonstop on the radio :p), all the holiday themed movies, the decorations, the yummy treats, just about everything!

I'm also loving all the holiday crafts of course. However, currently it seems like I've been on a mini album making spree lately :p Here's an altered mini box and album I created for a friend's birthday, it's a mini of her engagement photos. I'll be sure to share the other one's I made as soon as I take some pics of them.  In the meantime here's this one :) I'd love to share the inside pages but I didn't ask my friend if she'd mind that I plaster my blog with her photos :p I'll share later if I get her permission ;)

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I always appreciate it!  Take care!

{Update 1.14.2012}
Hello! My friend said that it was okay to share the inside of the album with her photos on my blog.  So if any of you are curious to what the inside pages look like, here are some pics.
Sorry some of them are a bit blurry :(

{Sketchy Thursdays} 11.17 Challenge

Hiya! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I had a fantastic holiday and was in a sort of food induced coma for about 3 days after :p I can't believe how fast it came and went, and now it's time to get ready for the Christmas holiday! I've definately been trying to get caught up in all my gift making and holiday projects, but it seems to be piling up.  There really just isn't enough time in the day.

Anyways, I wanted to share with you real quick the layout I created for the Sketchy Thursdays challenge. I created it last week but almost forgot to share it :p As always, their sketch is fabulous!

Here's their sketch:

 Here's my interpretation:

The photos are of my godson Robert.  I actually created a 12x12 scrapbook of him as a present for his 1st birthday, but this is the first layout I created for my album.  I'm sure he'll be the subject of many future layouts :p

Thanks so much for stopping by! Take Care!!

12/1/11:  Yay! My layout was chosen as a Sketchy Thursdays fave :)
               This is my second time as a fave and I'm definately honored.
               Thanks so much to the SketchyThursdays design team!

Waah!! Where did October go?

Hi there, you out there!

Sorry I've been really neglectful of my blog. October has really been one big blur for me. With being in a wedding, family visiting from out of town, babysitting, parties and midterms I've barely been able to grab on to my bearings as the month just flew on by.

I haven't really been able to do much scrapbooking lately and miss it terribly. Especially when I see all the wonderful sketches that my fave challenge groups are creating. It's just that the scrapbooking process tends to be a long one for me, it takes me so much longer to do then art journaling for instance. That being said, I haven't been totally non-artsy this whole month. I have been art journaling when time permitted and would like to share some of the pages I created.

This page was inspired by this month's Sketchbook Challenge theme "view".
Supplies used: Graphite Pencil, Pan Pastels, Spray Fixative, Sharpie Pen

Supplies Used: Smooch Spritz, Sharpie Pen, Stencils, Distress Ink

This is actually a page I did awhile ago and just decided to add some journaling.
Supplies Used: Acrylic Paint, Dictionary Paper, Matte Medium,
Speedball Ink (gold drips), Distress Ink, Faber Castell Pitt Pens

This month I joined Art Journal EveryDay, over at Julie Fei-Fan Balzer's
blog. I love her work and felt inspired to give it a try. So to show you that I have not been completely slacking off the whole month, here are some Pages In Progress. Some are beginning stages of backgrounds, and others need some doodling and journaling. I've been adding to the pages here and there, whenever I have the chance.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by.  Take Care!!

Sketchy Thursdays {September 22nd Challenge}

Hiya!  Here's the layout I created for Sketchy Thursdays Sept.22nd challenge. I'm really loving their sketches! I can't believe how many challenges are out there, I really wish I had the time to participate in all of them.  That being said, when I saw this week's sketch I just fell in love with it and it's simplicity.  I felt it was a layout I could definately complete in no time.  Now keep in mind a quick layout for me is one done in under 3 hours :p  I unfortunately don't have the talent like other scrapbookers to complete layouts quickly.  But I'm okay with that, because half the fun for me is finding the perfect paper or embellishment :)

                                Here is this week's Sketchy Thursdays sketch:

Here's what I created:
The lace along the bottom was not originally planned but I accidentally messed up on my journaling and had to figure out a way to cover it up, LOL:p

Supplies used:
Paper (Basic Grey)
Lace
Bling (Imaginisce)
Rub-ons (Fancy Pants, Autumn Leaves)
Walnut Stain Distress Ink
Perfect pearls (Ranger)
Micron pen for journaling and doodling
Glimmer Mists
Smooch Spritz
Distressing tool

Thanks so much for having a looksy :)  Take Care!!!
